I wasnt a fan of PE at the time but looking back it wasnt that bad. My daughters on the other hand did enjoy it and did dance classes outside school so I guess thats how it goes but they are far more co-ordinated than me so certainly didnt get that from my side of the family!
carolinehugz · 46-50, F
@BarefootLouise they do the odd yoga and jogging but not much this year though.
BarefootLouise · 31-35, F
@carolinehugz Don't think anyone anywhere in the world has done much this year.
carolinehugz · 46-50, F
@BarefootLouise No sadly and theres the other temptation of whats in the fridge too 😬

[c=7700B2] I LOVE gymnastics sooo much! 🤭🤭🤭 I like gymnastics cause you are barefoot and you go upside down which is magical! 🙃🙃🙃 [/c]
GkB01 · 51-55, M
@MommyLucy Going barefoot for PE was so much for me, even though I was no good at gymnastics or apparatus
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
I hated when I had to touch somebody or when some body pressed against me, which was almost inevitable in most games. Ugh, I really really hated it.
I hated that I had to change my clothes in a room where I had almost no personal space.
I hated getting bad grades for something that was completely out of my control.
BlueVeins · 22-25
-annoying teachers who dislike almost everyone
-people spraying deodorant indiscriminately through the whole locker room
-random, deliberate physical violence
-having to do exercises that you hate
-half the people just standing around on the field during soccer, basketball, football, etc.

There were some good things about it, but overall it was just more trouble than it was worth.

When I was at primary school (5-11), I enjoyed PE very much. When I got to secondary school, the competitive aggro, the forced excercises over high wall bars and up ropes as well as the awful experiences on the rugby field caused me to loath the whole subject with everything in my being. The teachers were unsympathetic and corporal punishment was the penalty for failure. 😡

It took me years to get over it and to discover that some PE teachers actually care about their students. I have enjoyed sports a little since, but there is a lasting scar.
BarefootLouise · 31-35, F
@Frank52 Sorry to hear that. Such a shame that your experience made you resent sports
QuietSophie · 26-30, F
In middle school we wore purple leotards for gymnastics and dance. They were awesome 😊
QuietSophie · 26-30, F
@carolinehugz Awh, I'm sure you looked just as cute 🤗
carolinehugz · 46-50, F
@QuietSophie Probably not as I wasn't the most co ordinated person then or now 😆
BarefootLouise · 31-35, F
@QuietSophie Sounds cute 😍
Elessar · 26-30, M
Because like every activity it's fun when you do it by your own initiative, annoying/unattractive when it's imposed.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Elessar Exactly. Couldn't have been said better.
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
For me, PE was a like and didn't like situation. Basically, I sucked in sports when I was a kid. We played Dodge ball in elementary school and didn't like it a bit. I don't think the PE teachers taught us anything since to them, they thought we were really athletic. High school PE was somewhat better and I was better in some of the sports. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to do PE barefoot.
Frank52 · 70-79, M
@Barefooter25 You've reminded me that we did all our gym lessons in bare feet. 😒
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
I mostly enjoyed PE but I hated the gross shit people would do in locker rooms like spit chewed up gum at you or dunk a softball in toilet water and then hock it at someone.
BarefootLouise · 31-35, F
@BlueMetalChick awww that's disgusting 😑 who would do such a thing.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@BarefootLouise We had some real dim bulbs in my high school lol. There was a group of ghetto ass girls who would blast loud shitty auto tune music in the locker room and they'd always end up doing some nasty shit like that lol
BarefootLouise · 31-35, F
@BlueMetalChick We had idiots two but mostly everyone was alright.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
I loved PE, except on a couple of occasions when I forgot my kit and had to take part in my knickers 🙈
BarefootLouise · 31-35, F
@SunshineGirl Awwww poor girl... did you learn not to forget your LE kit

I enjoyed it and loved the “field day” events towards the end of the school year
VeronicaPrincess · 61-69
PE was fun!
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@VeronicaPrincess Running was my favorite cos I was the best at it lol
GkB01 · 51-55, M
I didn't hate PE, just didn't like all of it. I liked things like badminton and always tried my best at things like football. I wasn't very good at gym or apparatus. I did enjoy doing most indoor and some outdoor PE in my bare feet, great fun.
MethDozer · M
Here is my 5 point presentation of why absolutely hated PE
5) PE teachers were always kinda creepy and dumb as a box of rocks
4) You had to carry around extra clothes
3) the changing rooms were disgusting fungus and bacteria breading grounds
2) you had to change your clothes, go get sweaty as fuck, change back while still all sweaty just to go sit all funky and sweaty in hours more of school

And the number one reason
1) It meant another hour at a place I wanted nothing more than to go home or anywhere else from in a completely pointless and useless so-called class. When I could just go to the park if I actually wanted to play a stupid pickup game of basketball and floor hockey. Which 9x out of 10 I didn't

Worth honorable mention.
And once high school hit. It was gender separated so there wasn't even a chance of watching a titty pop out or "accidentally" get a feel of like in JRHS.
BarefootLouise · 31-35, F
@MethDozer Sounds like you had a hard time in PE! I actually got on really well with my PE teacher, I had a locker so I wasn't carrying around extra clothes all day and I showered afterwards.
MethDozer · M
@BarefootLouise eewwwww, Meth Dozer refuses to use public showers. That's just disgusting.

It wasn't hard, it was just a stupid waste of time that meant being at school another hour. It was just a pointless hassle and waste of my free time as I saw it.
Barefooter25 · 46-50, M
@MethDozer Back in elementary school, the coaches told us we would be swimming as part of our PE class. My heart sank because at the time, I didn't know how to swim and the coaches didn't do anything to help me learn. I had to do private lessons so I can learn how to swim. In high school, we had to change in locker rooms. At first, it was a little unsettling but over time, I got used to them. The only bad thing about high school PE is that I sucked in volleyball. Overall, PE in high school was alright.
