I Love Learning But Hate School

I have always enjoyed learning, but school wasn't the best place for me to learn. For one thing, I was bullied and teased all through school, and so that didn't help any. I did graduate, but I didn't do as well as I could've though my GPA placed me in the top half of my class. And I know if it hadn't been for being in the band, I would've ditched more often and not done so much homework.

Even today I find it difficult to concentrate in class, and so what I need to know, I teach myself. It's a good thing I'm a voracious reader!!

Wonka, do take care of your studies, but I think your mom has a bit of a point...maybe not the partying, but you should make sure you take time to do SOMETHING you like, just for the sheer pleasure you get from whatever you choose.
I don't think it's wrong to party in college, heaven knows I've been to my share of parties, but it should only be a small part of your life, not what it revolves around. That's where so many get messed up...instead of a once a month thing, they're partying every night, not studying, and not coming to class, or coming to class still drunk, high, or hungover, which makes for an unpleasant environment for the other, more focused students.
And hon, you seem very intelligent to me. No matter what your dad may say or imply, you're not stupid.
