I Love Learning But Hate School

I have always enjoyed learning, but school wasn't the best place for me to learn. For one thing, I was bullied and teased all through school, and so that didn't help any. I did graduate, but I didn't do as well as I could've though my GPA placed me in the top half of my class. And I know if it hadn't been for being in the band, I would've ditched more often and not done so much homework.

Even today I find it difficult to concentrate in class, and so what I need to know, I teach myself. It's a good thing I'm a voracious reader!!

For the most part it's my mom, my dad just does it to be mean, he doesn't actually care what my grades are. The weird thing is, I told my mom I don't want to party or anything in college and focus more on my academics. Her immediate response was "No, it's college, you should go to parties, have some fun with guys as long as you're careful, dance, you only go once! You can't just sit in a dorm room and read all night". I explained I don't plan to do that, I just have no interest in partying but would gladly take part in other activities. She thinks I'm a killjoy.
