Did you know: today is science class morning.

Quit groaning. 🤨

Sound travels faster in water
Sound travels approximately four times faster in water than in air because water molecules are much closer together, allowing sound waves to transmit energy more efficiently.
Explanation:
Density difference:
Water is significantly denser than air, meaning there are more particles in a given volume of water, which facilitates faster sound transmission.
Molecular interaction:
When a sound wave travels through water, the closely packed molecules readily transfer vibrations to one another, resulting in a faster wave speed.
Key points:
Speed of sound in water: Around 1,480 meters per second
Speed of sound in air: Around 343 meters per second

It also travels further.

The denser the medium, the faster and further it travels - its basically about the transmission of energy waves interacting better in matter than space...or air.

Low frequency sounds travel the furthest.

Elelphants can commincate thru seismic sounds, (very low frequency sounds, [vibrations], sent through the soil). Some scientists say its about 20 kilomenters, some claim its dozens of miles, maybe more.

As to your 'sound travels thru water' thing - on a misty morning sound will travel faster and further due to the increased water molecules in the air....same as with nightime when air cools and condenses amd raises the humidity in the air. Its why nightime sometimes sounds different to daytime.

Interstingly light is the opposite, even though its just a different frequency of energy wave

Science is amazing 🤗

Wow ..

I did not realize that , and I consider myself an expert on being dense ..
@BobbyMoeven not. Saying. A. Word
@Bexsy well if you did, itd travel faster thru him 😂

I stopped reading at quit groaning. Lol

Quit groanong. 🤨

What?
@Degbeme fixed 😐
Degbeme · 70-79, M
@Bexsy Oh okay. *groans*
Zaphod42 · 51-55, M
That’s how whales can communicate over hundreds of miles 🐳
@Zaphod42 precisely

what will happen when it is anatomy day? :)
