How often do you have to think in new ways?

Been attempting to get use to the relatively new way bookmarks are done in foxfire browser for a number of years now. Around 5 years now actually. 🤣

Yet the minor details take a lot of rethinking that I have a hard time in remembering them. In particular in renaming of folders and placing them in new folder structures. I just don't find the whole system very intuitive.

When I see that "X" on a folder I keep on thinking delete folder item when instead there's both delete and edit structure options on it. Same goes for the actual bookmark.

The whole system to me seems counter intuitive, yet I don't believe that they will ever go back to the older way of copy and paste. So I must change my thinking on this.

It just seems so darn hard when it could be so much easier the old way of doing it.

So how often do you have to change your own thinking? It doesn't have to be even computer related.

At work once in a week maybe...

@DeWayfarer You're right. Most people we interview and select are not great at thinking on their feet. Even experienced professionals begin to wobble when they run into a new issue which needs to be resolved within a deadline. One needs strong fundamentals, calmness and be willing to learn new technologies, to do well in this kind of job...

@Unlearn age as well has a lot to do with it though. What I found easy only six years ago I currently have problems today.

Not that experience doesn't have its own value, because I remember well many things that are currently being used today where few younger people don't have a clue where to begin.

It's the combination of both experience and flexibility of mind that is very rare.

@DeWayfarer Yep. In my 20s I could sit for hours together and geek on topics I needed to learn. Now I need to take regular breaks...
Never. It's a responsibility only honest people take seriously.

@Roundandroundwego ok. 😆

I'll endeavor to not remember this! 😈
@DeWayfarer it's always a choice. Most people can't afford honesty.

@Roundandroundwego yet honesty will eventually be very useful even more so to those that are honest.

It just doesn't make itself known unless you can change your thinking.

This is often unknown to those that are honest. For they are honest because of what they learn from being told rather than by long time experience.

If you truly change your thinking you will learn from long time experiences.

@scrood May I ask in what way? Below someone else replied in relation to their job.

I am well familiar with that way because of a previous job.

The reason in my post is different because it's not job related.

@DeWayfarer In your post you mentioned you use fakefox browser for over five years? You could try to donate to the Pale Moon browser project but it is free

@scrood guy I'm a outstanding member of Mozilla with an infinity icon as my join date! 😂

Do you know who developed even the old Navigator browsers?

Firefox got stupid as a phone browser too many times. When it updated. All my passwords and stuff was deleted so i wrote them and removed it. But im thinking firefox is no longer supported in many things now
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Lilnonames oh it takes rethinking on a number of things. Passwords included on that.

I see their reasoning though. This way is far more secure. It takes a lot of rethinking though. I did manage to copy my whole bookmark structure to this new phone. And because of the password system.

Firefire will never become obsolete. And the reason there is obvious because chrome and other browsers are all based on previous Mozilla browsers.

Mozilla made the very first browser and was taken over by Netscape with their Netscape Navigator browser.

Foxfire is putout by Netscape and has always use Mozilla software.

They likely might call it something else in the future yet it will always be from Mozilla.
