Sadly, people need to put work first because life is expensive. Everyone needs to take care of family as well.

This world isn't based on putting family and people first. It's based on making ends meet, paying the bills to insure you have a home, food to eat, utilities and whatnot. If you own a vehicle, you will be made to pay for insurance, upkeep, gas and registration. You need to survive, even after what they call "retirement".
