Trump Revokes 6,000 Student Visas, Some Nigerians: X- Raying The Reasons | TMI

[media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCudCmLUSas]

“tRUMP’s ‘$h;th0l£ approach to US participation in international higher education”

Once again squandering our global lead in an important area where we used to lead the way.

tRUMP—using his own irrational biases and unfounded fear and loathing to garner votes from low IQ MAGA voters.

As bad in its own way as appointing Linda McMahon as the Secretary of State Education with the stated purpose of running it into the ground.

What this amounts to is: tRUMP failing America, the free world, and decent people everywhere with his pettiness and stupidity and corrupting our politics and legal systems to his own twisted prejudices.

Higher education is one sector of the U.S. economy in which we have a trade surplus with other countries: they purchase our "product" more than we purchase theirs.

So of course, the guy who worries about trade imbalances being a sign of "other countries ripping off the United States" is on a rampage against foreign consumption of domestic educational services.
@DrWatson Exactly correct! I was fortunate enough to benefit from two years of foreign study and what an amazing experience!

The bridges we built across continents in 1980-81 continue to this day and all parties are richer for the experience.
And that the other two branches let him do it.

Will no-one rid you of this turbulent beast?

(Legally and without violence of course.)

@FreddieUK It's a version of a quotation attributed to King Edward the second who wanted rid of Thomas Beckett his Archbishop of Canterbury. He is reputed to have said, 'Will no one rid me of this turbulent priest?'

It ended with loyal soldiers killing Beckett. I definitely do not advocate that as an ending in this case, hence my caveat.
@FreddieUK Good disclaimer to tack on, but it’s certainly not like the original intent isn’t already out there in the public domain…
@FreddieUK Of course. 😏
