I want to go back to university

I have been looking at different colleges for English and history majors. I have looked at southern New Hampshire university online degree programs. And I have looked at university of Maine presque isle online yourpace programs. These schools seem like the best fit with asynchronous courses ( weekly and monthly deadlines but no set log in times) and self paced competency based courses. I would first get my bachelors and then masters degrees and having the majors that I want. I have looked at other schools like upper Iowa university online , university of North Dakota grand forks online, fort hays state university and many more. I just want independent learning and to finish my degrees via online distance learning.. I regret not finishing college when I was younger.. it make take a few more years to go back to school but I want a bachelors and masters degrees. Eventually I will get them even if I am middle aged. Better late than never.

I admire your ambition, but do you have any reasons for getting the degrees. Just asking because I've recently come across several reports about "useless" degrees, those which lead to an almost zero chance of getting a person a job. Of course, getting educated can be an en d in itself. It all depends on what you're looking for.

@ChipmunkErnie While you have a point. (Who needs a degree in remedial macrame?) There are so many jobs that require a diploma just to get your resume read..A degree in anything does signify a level of research skill, ability to produce quality work in a timely manner and focus..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman That's the attitude that I grew up with, but the various recent videos I've seen say are outdated. :( There are so many people with degrees that if you don';t have exactly what the employer wants, why should they bother with you?

@ChipmunkErnie Yes.. And often the deeper you get into your field, the more you specialize yourself into a corner. My grandson (along with millions of others his age) wants to go into computer game design.. After breaking that down into 20 different specialties and confusing him completely, I told him to add a business management major so he would recognise a business when he saw it..😷

I hope you push forward and get it done. There is nothing like walking across that stage at graduation to change your outlook..😷
That’s awesome — you’ve got this
