Well. I'm one step away now. I've accepted the offer from the university.

This is my backup.

Now all I have to do is get a distinction grade in the final unit of the diploma I'm currently working on.

Once that final hurdle is passed, I've achieved something ludicrous. I've known about this offer for more than a month and I'm not exaggerating when I say I still find it hard to believe this is actually happening.

@SaorUladh I find your story inspirational and I’d bet others do too. How you should pursue your dreams and never give up hope. I don’t discount luck in a person’s life but it’s been your strength and hard work that’s given luck the chance to work its magic. 🙂

I can't argue with you there. It does take a bit of determination and work to overcome adversity. I have done a tremendous amount of work in the last couple of years.

I suppose I say lucky because I came so close to disaster so many times in my life. I dodged death by a hair's breadth more than once. I narrowly avoided serious trouble with the law a few times too. Most of those times I escaped by sheer good fortune. Not everyone was so fortunate.
