Looking back on your college years… ~

Do you think of the experience as the kindergarten of adulthood?
exchrist · 31-35
No it was like the senior tear of middle school.
exchrist · 31-35
@RedBaron whereas highschool pretends to be the finish line. Senior year of middle school is when the finish line becomes visible. Alternatively kindergarten for college implies college isnt be all to end all. It is supposed to be.
I see your point though but graduate highschool used to be the start of adulthood. Now u are legal age but still need preadult classes. Wat

@exchrist My thought is more about emotional maturity. We thought we were quite mature at 18 or 20. But looking back from my 50s and 60s, I realize we were still children.

@RedBaron absolutely true and i have to relearn the entire emotional spectrum due to brain injuries

Or the middle school of adulthood! But yeah I get your point! Maybe as I age I will see it like KG. Hey wait, aren’t we the same age?
RedBaron · M
@Mindful I only have stepchildren. Other than having my own business and not having to pay rent, I’m not really that affluent.

@RedBaron sounds like you paved your own way, and have helped be a decent (maybe even better) role model/parent.
RedBaron · M
@Mindful It’s mostly because of my wife!

@Scribbles Sounds like you did as well as anyone could under difficult circumstances.

My question is based on my admittedly fortunate and privileged experience of attending a prestigious Ivy League school full time, mostly on my parents’ dime.

An experience like yours surely instills maturity and character much more effectively than one like mine.
