Adjusting to college

It's my second night at college as a freshman, and I've been experiencing some things. Just wondering if it's normal.

- Even though I slept a lot over the summer, I slept at around 1:30 am last night and woke up at 5 am. I had trouble going back to sleep even though I felt very tired.

- While I don't necessarily miss my family, it sometimes gives me discomfort knowing I won't be back home for a while, especially when it's night time and dark or quiet.

- There are a lot of events in college to meet people and big group gatherings, but I'm finding them exhausting and don't feel like I'm able to connect with people or really make friends yet.

Is this normal, and will it get better when classes start and as time goes on?

Like the others said you will be fine. What you know what you want to major in yet? You took a few years off after high school I see. What did you do in that time?

College social life is fleeting. The people you connect with and bond with will transfer out flunk out, or take coursework / life work in a way you are not around them anymore.

@robertsnj Oh I didn't take years off after high school haha. Did something I say make it seem like that?
