I know the feeling. One month after graduating I was at another school getting a head start with summer classes for the PhD program.

@JoyfulSilence Right now, that sounds awful 😂 But did it work out in the end?
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
@PrincessBabyGirl No. I quit after two years, but not before getting an MS.

@JoyfulSilence You had planned to go for something higher?
I know sometimes people take breaks but in my undergrad I took 3 and it SEVERELY delayed me so no more breaks for me.

I was not ready for the "real world" and to work, and was a good student and so decided to stay in school. I went for a PhD so I would get support (teaching assistantship with stipend, and tuition waiver). But after two years I only had passed one "comprehensive" exam out of two (I failed after two attempts with one). They told me I should reconsider. But by then my brain was fried and I wanted out! I also wanted to start earning money and living a more normal life.
