I Want to Go to College

I’m so nervous. I’m going from high school to college and I’m so nervous for the process. I have a 3.7 weighted GPA that used to be a 3.9, a shit ton of tardies and I haven’t even taken the SAT. I’m shitting my pants. I feel like adulthood just slapped my face and I’m so not ready!

Sounds like you have a fair--and remarkably adult--appraisal of the situation. Next question: what are your goals?

Decide on a number of colleges and apply to all of them--AFTER you've taken the SAT. If you wanna go to college, you'll have to jump through that hoop.

Vocational school should be a consideration as well. I have one college degree, two years toward a second...and a trade school diploma in HVAC. The latter has put more moey in my pocket by a ratio of 3:1

Reconsider your whole plan. A university degree if it is in any of the so-called Humanities is almost useless now and will be utterly useless when you have paid many tens of thousands of USD and four years of your life getting it.

I am speaking from personal experience. Try and see if there are other options available to you to have a decent future other than the one you are being told you must take. And good luck.

@Abrienda Excellent advice...but I think you meant to reply to Natty, and not to me. 😊

@Abrienda Actually, a degree in humanities or liberal arts can work out well IF you are willing and able to continue all the way through the doctoral level and then work your way into academia and become a professor.
