I Don't Think a College Degree Always Indicates Intelligence

I once knew a man that could neither read or write but he was a specialist in building the bridges you cross today.

Plus he is a millionaire many times over.

Building the bridges we cross today requires several college degrees. There is no place I know that teaches that level of engineering in high school.
@sarabee1995 he did this 30 or so years ago

@Mondayschild Without any training in civil engineering or structural engineering or metallurgy or any of the dozen other specialties required to build a bridge??

Or was he just the contractor that hired all the engineers??
Nope he was the the engineer. The only thi g i can fibure out about him was that he was a natural genius in this field.

@Mondayschild Weird. I always thought a PE license was required for stuff like that.
@sarabee1995 as far as i know not back then or maybe he was grandfathered in after being an apprentice?

@Mondayschild Idk, never heard of that but i wasn't around then so idk.

But to your original point, college degrees may not by themselves indicate intelligence, but there are certain fields that absolutely require advanced degrees that absolutely do require certain amounts of intelligence to obtain. Building bridges today is one of those fields.
@sarabee1995 yes I understand that.
