America's childhood education system is the best in the world because parents can keep their kids home and teach them whatever they want.

That's how I got so smart. The only way it could be better is if they got rid of public schools altogether.

Not true. Parents who home school their children are not allowed to "teach them whatever they want". Their children must pass achievement tests as required by law. Unlike some people, I don't vomit out bull crap, I actually researched this to find out exactly what is required.
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
Yeah, they taught me how to pass the achievement tests and they also taught me all the real-world knowledge I wouldn't ever have learned in a government-run public school, like how global warming is a French hoax by the Chinese, and how liberals are plotting to take over America so they can surrender to ISIS and become part of the caliphate.

gregloa says they don't have to pass a test if it's privately funded homeschool. You'd better go tell him he's a liar. He thinks he knows better than you just because he homeschools his kids.
keep the public schools. stop funding private and religious schools..
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
Well well well, I guess liberals aren't so tolerant after all.
whats this liberal shit.. ? how do you come up with liberal because i dont think the taxpayer should be funding schools who are well funded anyway?
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
Because you want to keep the public schools open so they can keep brainwashing youth with the government's liberal agenda. Private and religious schools need as much funding as they can get so they can fit all the students who will leave the public schools when we de-fund them.
gregloa · 61-69, M
I homeschool my girls. State laws must be followed, however if it's free public homeschool funded by the state then they must take star test just like regular public schools. If it's private not state funded then they don't have to take star test. This type of homeschool is expensive but you don't have to follow state funded rules. But you still have to follow state law.
That's how it is in Texas
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
I'm pretty sure she was talking about all homeschool, not just some homeschool.
gregloa · 61-69, M
The public schools in my area suck.
However there are very good public schools. A lot of the time their hands are tied by state rules and laws. Dude I am somewhat on your side. Lay off off katielass, she is a good friend of mine. Please and thank you.
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
If anything you should be asking me to lay off you after she caught you lying like that.
Doesn't sound like educated thinking to me.
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
I never blame my parents for anything. But I give them credit for everything. That's how respect works.

USAalltheway · 31-35, M
I don't read books. That bullcrap is for liberals.
AnonymousJSS · 22-25, F
So smart? Yeah as smart as bread
It all makes sense now...
animusinvictus · 31-35, M
Education should be a completely private affair. The state's only role in society should be protecting people and property from aggression.
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
Yeah, everybody should just get whatever education their parents decide to give them. It's the only way to be fair.
animusinvictus · 31-35, M
@USAalltheway: Actually that's not necessary. With online student resources like Khan Academy, P2P University and Academic Earth, as well free archives and college lecture series, you really don't need your parents to teach you much beyond basic arithmetic and literacy.
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
Yeah, all that stuff would definitely exist in a laissez-faire society. It's easy to predict that because sociology and economics are really simple. Besides, who needs a real university to tell them what classes to take? Anybody can just go online and easily find everything they'd need to know to get a PhD. It's just that easy.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
Sounds like a good way of perpetuating some narrow thinking
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
So in other words you're a liberal.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@USAalltheway: if by liberal you mean someone with an open mind to the truth, I guess I am
USAalltheway · 31-35, M
Smh. Only a liberal would think it's possible to find the truth with an open mind.
Sazzio · 31-35, M
No we need public school for equal opportunity and socialization.

USAalltheway · 31-35, M
You just don't understand how economics works because you're a liberal. Equal opportunity is when your parents give you something. If the government gives you something, it's called a handout instead.
