Wouldn't it have been simpler to say it reached 123 degrees Fahrenheit? Not everybody has the time or the patience to convert it.

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: The whole world uses Celsius.

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: exactly not everyone has the time to convert, for us it is celsius

@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: Same goes for us who use Celsius. Not all of us have the time or patience to convert it.

@lockedupforgood: I do not use Celsius. We learned a little about it in school in 1972 (I think), but Fahrenheit was still the "default" scale years after that.

@PlayaCat22: Where do you live, Playacat?
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: It is the SI unit. It is used officially in your country as well. Only the US uses Fahrenheit scale officially.
PlayaCat22 · M
@lockedupforgood: Si unit is Kelvin
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
@PlayaCat22: True that. My bad.
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@lockedupforgood: The "official" scale was Fahrenheit when I was in school, so Fahrenheit it is. If others want to use Celsius just to be awkward, that's their lookout. It's not my problem.
PlayaCat22 · M
@lockedupforgood: still celsius is mostly used around the world
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: We are living way ahead of "your time".
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@PlayaCat22: Kelvin is quite a new one, isn't it? I still haven't got my head around that one yet.
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@lockedupforgood: Hmmm. That's not the most logical way to keep the status quo as it was when I was in school, is it?
PlayaCat22 · M
@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: not that new, i learned about that when i was a kid and now i am in 20s so...
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@PlayaCat22: I first heard of it when I was maybe 13 or 14, but like Celsius it was comparatively new, and probably newer than Celsius. Fahrenheit was still the conventional scale.
PlayaCat22 · M
@Bottomschmackenloudenboomer: it is not that much of big deal though
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@PlayaCat22: Maybe not, but some people try to make a big deal about all sorts of things and then try to pass the blame onto me for some unknown reason.
