Why such a bad ACT essay score?

08. That's the score I received for my ACT essay (scaled to a 24). Here is why I believe this is nonsense: I am currently the top student in my COLLEGE ENGLISH COMPOSITION 2 class, with a 98% average at the end of the semester. I have proved myself proficient in English (35 in that portion), but my essay remains mediocre. What did you all do in similar situations?
1. There should be no comma between "class" and "with" because they are part of the same clause.

2. There should be no comma before "but".

Study English harder and on a more advanced level. I recommend reading grammar books.

@Existentior: I have no intention of majoring in English. Rather, I find chemistry as a suitable major, as it can be applied in normal life and aid in the progress of humanity. Only mathematics and science are applicable to society. Although your comment was amusing (which I enjoy), it did not answer my question regarding standardized testing. I recommend being more considerate to the requests of others.
@MaybeTooNarcissistic: My response was a critique on your claim that you have proved yourself proficient in English which is not the case. You are indeed too narcissistic because you don't see your own mistakes.

Furthermore, I did give you proper advice because I told you you have to study harder in order to get a better score. You asked for our advice in such situations and that's what I did when I was confronted with that situation.
You see, mature people study hard for courses they're not interested in because it's part of the curriculum unless you are at some low-end community college.

I suggest you learn how to read and see things in context because you have very poor analytical skills.

I can tell you right now that if you don't see the utility of language in society, you are one hundred percent going to fail college. You lack insight which is a critical skill for college. If you're going to major in anything, you're going to be obliged to study hard for all courses, not just your major. I know a guy just like you and he's a dumbass.

Fucking kid. You are what's wrong with millennials.

@Existentior: Thank you very much for encouraging me to excel in college. This may be what I was looking for: someone to tell me I'm going to fuck up, so I can prove them wrong. I would say I am already ahead of the majority of "millenials," as I have 5 peer-reviewed papers by the age of 15, an expected 7 by the end of 2017, and an official IQ of over 160. This is proof that science (more specifically, psychology), is most effective in discovering a response. Again, I proclaim my gratitude unto you, thy most optimistic one.
The ACT doesn't really mean anything. I scored very highly on all of them when I was in school and I have yet to be rewarded anywhere in life because of it.
