Just heard growling in my backyard

I have my windows open and I heard a low growl three times .I was too tired to go downstairs to see what it was. I said Hey! Out the window and made a few light noises like when you're being friendly with an animal, trying to have it come closer. The sounds stopped after that. I wonder what animal it was? I wish I had a outdoor Ring camera!!
