I'm just learning that due to the megafauna, saltwater crocodiles during the pleistoscene reached 7m+
From fragmentary fossil record, but a scientist Dr Grahame Webb believes even 8.0-8.5m specimens are possible.
I'd say AU's far NT would be the perfect habitat for this.
Remote, filled with wild hogs and cattle and crocs routinely breaching 5m+ in length puts into place the scaffolding in the future, should they breed true and undisturbed for a return to these epic giants.
I won't be around to see it, but maybe my great grand nephew might become a snack 🥹❤
