It can be, if people stick to the topic and aim for clear debate.
Healthy argument is paramount to maintaining any sort relationship and finding solutions to difficult problems.
Unfortunately most of us don't know how argue properly, and we get sarcastic insultive and personal.

@NOS4R2 yes a lot of people haven’t gone past the first stage, which is put your ideas out there to be challenged and try and defend them. A lot of people even old people, just start to throw insults and then block or ignore the conversation altogether

@Ferise1 its like its a personal affront to have a different view. I think our way of life is making people leas tolerant, more reactive and just plain touchy.
Also, many old people are often lonely, bored and got nothing better to do 😂

@NOS4R2 yes but it’s fine to argue if you go to the end of an argument. If you just start throwing insults and block or ignore., that’s when we have a problem. You’re not helping humanity move forward.
NOS4R2 · 41-45
@Ferise1 You're not even helping yourself move forward. But then thats the issue - too many are stuck on ' my way or the highway". Theres no compromise or 'lets agree to disagree" any more. We opionate and agrivate but never appreciate.

@NOS4R2 I find their rears on the Facebook group so I used to go. People argued so much that they all go to the end of an argument and settle their differences. But on. Sw not so much.
NOS4R2 · 41-45
@Ferise1 Here, arguing is most often baited.
We have a user type that post purely for the sake of luring people into argument. These types have nothing else to do. They get a kick from it. Its their dopamine rush for the day.
What they wont admit to is: they're here BECAUSE its 'what they do'. They have done it so much, all of their life, to everyone - the only people left in their life to argue with are online.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@NOS4R2 well I still argue with them, politely, and if they throw insults and stop replying, then I win
NOS4R2 · 41-45
@Ferise1 Yea, when they revert to sarcasm and insults you know they have lost the plot.
The big pity is. they never change.
They just get worse year by year. Their fuses get shorter, their insults get weirder and they become proverbial angry old farts.

@NOS4R2 lol that’s so sad, l try and find those people and confronting their beliefs because even if it doesn’t seem like it, something inside them changes, the wheels of thought start turning. And it’s the most important thing we can do in this world. Apart from charity and medicine etc
NOS4R2 · 41-45
@Ferise1 From my experience I've found you can't change people. And it's dangerous to make it a habit, because before you know it - you can become addicted to arguing just like they are. Be careful my friend.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@NOS4R2 no that’s the fear talking, that doesn’t help anyone
NOS4R2 · 41-45
@Ferise1 if you say so, sure.
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
@NOS4R2 lol youre precisely one of those who won’t change their mind. You ARE the people you criticize 😂
NOS4R2 · 41-45
@Ferise1 ok.
