Those kids in your class in elementary school that seemingly never figured out how to sound out words?

Seems to me that it’s those kids that grow up into bad readers as adults. I swear it’s like some people literally try to read by memorization, even in adulthood.

@Zeuro Well, no. That's not true at all. And, if you ask me, unfair. I mean, I don't want to rehash points I made a long time ago, but learning to make word sounds that have no relation to real languages... well, what's the point and as you point out is harmful in the long-term.

@Zeuro Whoa... why am I the one getting yelled at? It's harmful because it creates a reliance on some made-up language that has no basis in reality or practicality is all I am saying. I think you can agree that time spent learning a real language would aid in spelling, reading, and proper pronunciation.
