The next two years….

So I did it. I‘ll be starting a 2-year master’s program for TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) this August. I’ll still be teaching in the morning and Saturday since my classes are in the evening.

Should’ve done this when the kids were little, but I didn’t think I’d get separated in my late 40’s. I’ll be an even older geezer by the time I’m done. 😅

Question:Any tips on finding and applying for scholarships?

The only way I was able to afford graduate school, short of taking loans, was to be a TA and lecturer for undergrads. They waived my tuition and paid me a stipend to live on.

Yet I suspect you have no more time to teach. Also, I was in math and going for a PhD. Other fields may not be so generous. I failed to get a PhD but got an MS before I quit.
The standard financial aid form is still the FAFSA, but you should look for grants targeted to

• training Teachers
• non-traditional students (AARP might have resources)
• helping divorced ppl gain new career training
Given the desperate need for teachers, I bet states have incentives (if they are not "Red" states; these might not support that kind of teaching).

Best of luck. Doesn't matter when you did this. Point is you ARE doing it. Forget the old geezer tslk. Time flies. You will graduate before you know it. Check with the Financial Aid Dept st a local university or college. They have lots of info. You are headed in the right direction, Mars.
Just curious, and passion is its own, but why do you want a masters in teaching English to speakers of other languages?
Congratulations, it's never too late to start something new and useful.

My daughter's going to university to study English and do a TESOL course Too. Plenty of mature students do this course Too...
