@Musicman We and they didn't have a choice. My freshman year, I had classes and labs from 8:00 to 6:00 with an hour for lunch on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Tuesday, I had class and lab from 9:00 to 5:00 with an hour for lunch. Thursday I had classes from 9:00 to 5:00 with no lunch because of ROTC drill at noon. Then three hours of classes on Saturday.

@Musicman She’s moody, I’m not a big fan of highs and lows. She’s also very very spoiled because her real father passed from brain cancer about nine years ago. So, mom gave her everything - free college, world travel, etc. It can be tough because out of respect for her I’ve never even attempted to step in as a father figure. I’m simply her mom’s husband.
We also each have a house, so her mom decided to live with me. Even though I have a 4 br house, one room is now a gym and another is an office. That leaves two bedrooms. She just assumed the 2nd br would be hers but it’s currently flooded with her mom’s clothing. Thus, that made her mad on day one back from college. Hell, I didn’t even know which house she was going to live in. Plus her grandmother is flying in from the UK next month and we were prepping the space for her.
In short, she’s always been fairly indifferent toward me and I completely understand that. She does fight with her mom though- verbally. That was never allowed with my girls. You never raise your voice to someone nor disrespect them. So my lifelong rules require adjustment. That’s harder when you’re older.
