I know quite a bit about the history of my country and my state. My mother was a teacher; she made a point of making certain we all knew. I grew up during a time that a lot of changes were taking place. They weren’t always discussed in school, but they were part of current events and we lived them.
It saddens me that now, in some parts of the country people are trying to censor historical fact, ironically groups who previously claimed to support "free speech". Apparently teaching future generations about the mistakes we’ve made as a nation is more dangerous than risking repeating them. 😞
