Surround yourself with the language.
Ideally, find some friends that you agree to talk only English with so that you can practice your pronunciation and get used to switching from one language to the other on a regular basis.
I'm learning Dutch, and it's helped me to identify a few close friends that I can practice typing in Dutch with. My sentence structure still sucks and I haven't yet ventured into speaking Dutch but I'm recognising the general gist of what is written without a translation in some cases now.
