I feel like colleges should be responsible for getting you a job for the thing that you majored in

People waste so much time and money on college, student loan debt is insane. They can't even provide you with the books and pre-reqs are mandatory. And then after 3, 4, 5+ years of the bs people still can't get a job.

Ok, so either get them a job or give them their money back.

Imagine if this was done with anything else. You buy a car and it might work, it might not work. That'd be crazy.

A good college should provide some career support.
Most people that go to college are barely adults and are just doing what their parents suggested though
I'm not really arguing against your point, just saying that maybe the negative consequences of the whole thing should be much better communicated to these kids and their parents.
