Why do women have longer life expectancy than men?

I'm not really sure. Maybe men are more prone to violence or something so they die young more often. Or maybe cos there's more men in the army than women.

I was thinking if it's around those lines. I was wondering if childbirth doesn't really affect life expectancy for women.
