I finished teaching my 5-week ESL class last night.

My students brought different desserts, & I made my candied almonds & pecans, which were a hit. After I taught for an hour, we enjoyed ourselves by eating, dancing to Latin music, & then they presented me with gifts. I got flowers, a Starbucks gift card, soap from Italy & $320 cash. I was blown away by their generosity. I’ll miss them. 💖

That's awesome. Your students sound like wonderful people. I would miss them too.

@Rutterman My ESL students are always nice. Since I started teaching in 1998, I’ve never had a student give me attitude or disrespect me. 😇

@marsbar I'm sure you're a great teacher who always treats the students respectfully. That would tend to discourage anyone from being disrespectful to you or giving you attitude.

@Rutterman I’m genuine with my students, & it helps to build a rapport with them. They also see how passionate I am when I teach, & they know that I do care about them & how much they learn from my classes.
