Man, it baffles me how gullible and weak minded some people are.

I mean, you have people on here for example, who will knowingly post the most insane misinformation...and there are people who will just automatically believe it, and follow the shepard. Amazing, isn't it?

The thing about delusions and even hallucinations to an extent is they are more vivid, the thoughts more focused and the memories more clear than what the person sees with their eyes and hears with their ears. So the brain believes that which "looks" more real.

It is a trait of a lot of different mental illnesses like schizophrenia, paranoia, bipolar, borderline, pathological lying, ocd, etc... Even POWs that have been tortured with sensory depravation will have their brains start to create their own reality in order to not die.

I think this is some of the excuse behind old age as well. When your senses start going your brain tries to compansate by creating internal reality which looks a lot more real.

But it looks like this is a whole new separate mental illness all its own and no longer a symptom.
