Maybe I missed something. The video tells us what we can't and should not do when dealing with "stupidity". It tells us that we must attempt to understand. It tells us that, the only way to help the stupid person is to liberate them from their stupidity.

@room101 Thats a little ironic, since the Dunning-Kruger effect convinces them that they are the smartest people in the room. So the options as I see them are to keep them out of powerful positions, or to prevent them being part of the power appointing group. In short, treat them as non competent people. Now I dont like those answers any more than most people.. So I guess the answer is to create a much better logic and competence baced education system and wait keep your heads down until the dust settles.😷

I think my issue is twofold. First, the video offers no solutions. Second, there are no solutions. To me, this is about human nature. It's about what we are as a species. The video implies as much when it points out that, this condition of being is not genetic etc., it's a social condition.

Your post is headed with the phrase "responsible adults". Responsibility, self-agency if you will, is what Socrates tried to persuade the Ancient Greeks to apply. He tried to get them to stop looking to the gods for explanations re their own behaviours. He was charged with blasphemy and sentenced to death.

Almost 2,500 years later and our Olympian Gods have been replaced by TV, social media, etc etc etc etc. And, just as in Socrates day and in Nazi Germany, the same results........EVERY. DAMNED. TIME!

Sorry, that sounds very pessimistic of me. I do like people. Honestly I do🤣🤣🤣

@room101 You probably like them more than I do. Individuals are fine. I have met wonderful people of all shapes sizes and shades.. But in large number we really do become an infestation on the planet..😷
