If I was a teacher I would teach 5th grade. Plus 5th grade was my favorite grade. If I had to be put in preschool or kindergarten, I wouldn’t take the knees well! I would be hella pissed! I would argue with them to keep me working with older kids. Kindergarten children and younger kids are a handful and you have to deal with them chasing each other around and you’re on your feet so much! Fuck that.
@DrScissorhands Fair enough. I work with preschool children. I love it but it’s so stressful and there’s times I’ve lost my patience. But working with day care if fun to me. I actually want to teach 4th grade. Or 5th.
@LaylaTheTallGirl Not everyone enjoys working with little kids. I mean you have to have a LOT of patience and not everyone is like that. It’s okay if she prefers working with older students. I rather work with older students too.
As a person who was trained to teach young adults and adults at university, I can honestly say not everyone enjoys working with kids. I can only take them in small doses. @LaylaTheTallGirl
My wife taught 5th for 20 years, then switch to 4th for 4 years. She went back to 5th. She said the 1 years difference was amazing. 4th graders cried, whined. 5th at 10 years old were more independent.
I would be very sad if I got moved up to an upper grade. I don’t wanna work in high school. After my experience in high school, no way. 1st grade for me. I like working with little kids because.
