Is this true? I heard that Biden is actually considering a travel ban to and from the state of Florida.

I heard that Florida has increasing numbers of infection from the more contagious and more deadly UK mutation of the virus, and that Joe Biden now wants to use federal powers to restrict travel...so that Florida residents could not leave, and residents from other states could not enter.

I'm wondering if that is really true or is it more hate mongering?

And, if it is true, has the Constitution been changed in some way so that it has become legal for the federal government to impose travel restrictions on the states?

If that were to occur, you can bet it will go straight to the courts. And so far, they’ve been upholding the parts of the 1st Amendment - freedom to worship. We’ll see if they uphold freedom of association (travel?)
@CantExplain I’ll go out on a limb here and say the Administration will back down on this and nothing will come of it.

@soar2newhighs I think they will put it on a back burner, if what the Miami Herald reported is all true, and only use that option in Blue States or places where the politicians are willing to cooperate.

@soar2newhighs I think you have the right bet
@4meAndyou well re: blue states perhaps the politicians will (not all) but the citizens are being targeted and there very well may be serious back lash from them, regardless of political stripe.

@soar2newhighs Yup. Florida is full of New Yorkers and they won't go quietly into that good night, that's for sure.
