I would say that's ridiculous if I hadn't had seen several radical conservative parents bust down teachers doors to complain about them "vilifying white people" when we were learning about colonizers, slaves, and segregation lol. One father in my tutoring group even threatened to sue if our tutor went over the details of the confederate flag's past lol. I can only imagine what will happen in a few years, when same sex marriage being legalised is taught the same way that people of different races being allowed to marry is lol

@Lucyy that being said, some teachers are semi-abusive with it, so that's the issue we'd have with them not being able to oversee. I think the school itself needs to be strict about what is or isn't required to graduate. That way the option is, if the teacher is in the wrong, you can take it up with the school, but if the parent is just trying to control what facts the school can teach based on personal or religious opinion, they can either deal with it or have the option of homeschooling. But too often schools are controlled by parents biases and morals. Gay history IS American history. Black history IS American history. The confederate flag and what it stood for IS American history and shouldn't be taken out due to personal opinion lol. There shouldn't be bias in teaching
