What do you make of the 'unfair results' claim levelled at the UK 'A'-Level examination board following the 'predicted grade' and 'non-exam'debacle

Huge outcry today as students who would have sat their A-Level exams and been graded accordingly, have had to settle for what the examining board has determined as their 'final grade' because the students were unable to sit the exams due to covid-19.

Going to give a huge headache to the appeals process as thousands are predicted to challenge the grades they've been given.
Also a massive headache for universities who will now be scared to offer students places should their 'chosen' students find their places cancelled because those with 're-graded' results are better.

I wonder if any other nation is going to have the same problems.

Why ask the teachers to grade them just to ignore it??
Madness. I know a few people whose kids got results today that were down graded.
They also said on the news more kids in the north of Engkand were downgraded than in the South. More from schools in deprived areas than afluent areas and more in state schools than private schools were marked down. Sounds fair?? What to expect if a Tory government....

I wish they could just put all school on pause until COVID is over, and then pick up where they left off.

I do too. Well, I do believe in online learning. But yes, it requires someone checking on the child frequently, depending on their age@SmartKat

Hmmmm maybe this is what caused the dark ages... a pandemic?

Time for a major paradigm shift? (Spelling?)

@AntisocialTroll People wouldn't normally be allowed to leave an examination to go to the bathroom anyway !
Bit of a weird report really.
i think those poor people who finish school this year are royaly fucked... i am completely ok with giving those a bonus
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@SquirrelGirl they didnt get a bonus. 45% were given grades below their predicted grades.
