Charter Schools and their Enemies

Why can't kids in the inner cities get a decent education? Charter Schools used to be a medium cost choice for parents who couldn't afford private schools, but did not want to have to send their kids to public schools with horrible records, tenured teachers who couldn't be fired, and extremely low records of kids going on to college.

Dr. Thomas Sowell of Stanford University's Hoover Institute shocked me when I heard him say that powerful public school teachers unions in California are deliberately trying to destroy Charter Schools, because they are the competition!

50,000 inner city kids are on waiting lists to get in to Charter Schools, and some genius in government put the head of the teachers union in CHARGE of the rules for Charter Schools, which resulted in quality and standards plummeting, so that now, some Charter schools with previously stellar records are WORSE than the public schools, if that is even possible.

In some states, empty school buildings that could be used by Charter schools are being razed to the ground so that Charter schools can't take money away from Unions .

They need to close every charter school run by Gulen. He was exposed on 60 minutes as having sponsored terrorism around the world & then Bill Clinton invited him here to set up charter schools in the USA. He has a great number of them, uses parents & students to work a great number of fund-raisers in addition to the money he gets from the governments for each student enrolled. They also love to try to pull the students into their sect of Islam during off-campus events. We enrolled the boy in one in Oklahoma City & then two days after we handed in all the paperwork someone on Twitter posted a story about Gulen & his link to terrorist activities. I started Googling & found that he was running the charter schools under a variety of names. I looked at the list and there was the school that the boy was enrolled in. The very next day we took back the enrollment. When I was filling out forms I saw dozens and dozens of fundraisers, everything you could possibly think of for fund-raising for a school. And they expect the students & parents to do the hard work & then siphon the money off for nefarious activities. And never thought anything about a mosque being located about 2 blocks down the highway.

@cherokeepatti And the educational pit just gets deeper and deeper.

@4meAndyou these schools are heavy on the math and sciences. I wonder if they work hard to recruit the brightest students to help carry out some of their little projects?
And what’s funny is that the quarantine put a stop to most of those fundraisers so they didn’t make nearly as much money as they usually do. Can’t have garage sales, popcorn sales, car washes or whatever in a quarantine.

@cherokeepatti I really don't know. I have a slight headache all the time, even after gulping down OTC medication like crazy, and I haven't researched Gulan...at all...but I can tell you that 60 Minutes has turned into CNN.

If a Charter School is teaching math and science, that is far better than the woke agenda of the teachers union in California, which wants to stop teaching scientific principles because of their "whiteness".

@4meAndyou this was shown years ago & they were still allowed to set up schools here. I am not just going by 60 minutes, there are others who are also speaking out about this.

@cherokeepatti Ah. Years ago, (about 20 to 30), 60 minutes was an excellent show.

@4meAndyou Yes it was, they exposed it but it was Bill Clinton that brought him here. I spent hours reading about this organizations & got the message to the teacher who recommended the school for the boy. She also read a lot about it and said “Oh My God I didn’t realize what he was connected to.” The school is one of the best for math & sciences but if you know that they are connected to terrorism would you want your child enrolled in it?
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti Of course not. But are ALL Charter schools in large cities where they are so desperately needed run by this terrorist collaborator?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@4meAndyou I don’t think so, they have other charter schools but most are not specializing in math & sciences.
4meAndyou · F
@cherokeepatti MOST are not even allowed to expand when there is a 50,000 student waiting list to get in.
