Why is the Presidential Election of 1800 sometimes called the “Revolution of 1800”?

@Allelse They were a political party. Washington and Adams were Federalists. Then in 1800 Jefferson was elected President. He was a Democrat-Republican. 1800 was basically the end of the Federalist Party as a force in American politics.

@Allelse They were business conservatives like modern day Republicans. All for the rich merchants instead of the farmers.
