Why do people during a nice and fluent chat simply stop and not respond, or simply log out?

I consider its a lack in education and respect and politeness.Or am I the only one in the world feeling this way?
Or is it normal part of culture in the US, as I know 90 % of people in SW are American ?
ArtieKat · M
I agree too. A total lack of respect for other users. Courtesy costs nothing!
MissyChrissy · 18-21, F
@ArtieKat Yes Sir, youre so right.

People online will be much ruder than they would be in real life. When they get tired of the conversation they just stop, leaving the other person not knowing what hapoened. It’s wrong and I won’t do it.
updown2020 · 61-69, M
Well it seem it like that here. I used to get mad when I was talking with someone and the next minute there gone. But I got use to people just going.
MissyChrissy · 18-21, F
I hate that too and would love to understand that.
Lucy18 · F
@MissyChrissy It has to do with anonymity, I assume, which brings up the real character of people
MissyChrissy · 18-21, F
@Lucy18 I totally agree, Miss
hillbilly · 26-30, M
I usually tell people bye
Rocknrod · 61-69, M
Dam good question.
BigGuy2 · 26-30, M
I'm English ... it could just be WiFi issues, it happens to me all the time, being thrown out of WiFi
BigGuy2 · 26-30, M
It could just be their WiFi's playing up, it happens to me a lot
Justme264 · 70-79, M
@BigGuy2 hapoens here too... if I am having to go, I try to saycso
BigGuy2 · 26-30, M

Life away from their screen is likely more important that making sure they respond to someone they had a nice chat with.
They walked away.
User names, people online, are only entertainment for most.
@Lucy18 Has little to do with education or respect and everything to do with priorities.
Lucy18 · F
@TwiddlerofThumbs for me respect and politeness have priority
Seb2357 · 31-35, M
@TwiddlerofThumbs I would say politeness is a sign of education.
SW-User
they're bored by your incessant neediness of wanting to talk to them and them only.

Just something I've experienced lately.
SW-User
@Lucy18 No, but I find it hard to compare friend in the real world, and here in such a circumstance
Lucy18 · F
@SW-User thats the point.People are rude and impolite, because they do not face the reaction of the other side. The enjoy the anonymity,I call that "coward"

I so feel you!

I've been told that I appear to go offline regularly even though I am definitely still here. I mostly use SW from my phone so I assume it is showing me logged out when I switch to another app? Maybe the same is happening for others. I also am on here at work and sometimes have to abruptly stop responding because I get a call or need to be in a meeting or such, but I always come back as soon as I am able and pick up where the conversation left off.
SweetMae · 70-79, F
I try to tell my friends when I need to sign out. But sometimes I get interrupted by life.
Lucy18 · F
@SweetMae thats ok,np
Dadbod52 · 56-60, M
It’s when my wife come home. Bye!
Rickg · 31-35, M
They just get bored and don’t care about other people as long as they aren’t entertaining them
Also it’s easy to be rude to ppl online
They probably wouldnt act like that face to face

Or I mean they could have just had something suddenly come up
Justme264 · 70-79, M
It is just discourteous if not rude Lucy.... but people from here in the UK do it too
Real life often interferes for me
Justme264 · 70-79, M
I hate it too
Rocknrod · 61-69, M
I hate that.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Sometimes, life happens. I try to avoid simply ceasing to respond.
