Should a thesis always have a practical use?

You'd think so, wouldn't you? Anything for that degree though.

@raysam363 My issue has often been that projects ended before I could suggest another thesis which I could have brought in.

@scooogy I've heard of a thesis based on whether or not glass bottles affect mood more than plastic. They were proud of this.

@scooogy I was able to look it up because I was in the department. All they did was use established research. It was more of a review than a new thesis. Not sure if it was enough though, graduated before then.

@raysam363 I heard of a student's thesis in architecture, a research on whether or not a certain place in the streets would be qualified for changing it to roundabout traffic.
