What do deaf people do when they forget how to spell a word in sign language?

Me. I'm not deaf and I forget how to spell words all the time and if it weren't for google I'd get stuck. So I was just wondering if this happens to them too.

They probably use ASL, if they're in the states. And if they do those words are rarely spelled out, rather, there is a general sign for a word. So there's no need really to spell out with finger spelling.
