1) Easy to get loans means they can charge more without driving people away
2) People essentially NEED college education for many of the living wage jobs. It is true that we have a growing need in trades which can be educated for more cheaply, but even if we filled those at 100% the need for college education would still be outrageously high.
3) Supporting industries work with the colleges to funnel money through to others as well. Instead of using the same text book until the information is out of date, they cycle the same information into different orders each year to keep people buying new textbooks.
