I read this in a contract " this agreement shall be construed, governed, interpreted and applied"

Isn´t that redundant ?

Don´t the words construed and interpreted have similar meanings ? Or am I mistaken ?

Let me know if there is a difference.

@Underconstruction That sounds reasonable to me and makes better reading. It sounds like these words are meant to give direction to the reader on a particular effect of something. So understood would be correct in that passage. Unless there is a legal difference between those two words but in common english they are synonymous.
