Customers were very excited about these products. Because of the positive reactions from the customers, the company started to market its products in the 60’s. Thanks to great success, the former hairdresser became a cosmetics producer. Nowadays known as Hegron Cosmetics
The company has several departments. For example the production, the inspection, the packaging / filling department and R&D (research and development). All four have an important role in producing products.
The R&D department deals with the development of products. They write recipes, make products and tests them.
Examples of this are:
•Stabilitytests to see if the product remains stable after three, six and twelve weeks.
• Xenon Tests to see if the product his color remains stable in full-spectrum sunlight.
• Cycletests to see how the product reacts in extreme temperature changes.
The equipment used at the R&D lab is:
• pH meter measures the acidity of a product that contains water. With a shower gel, the pH should be inbetween 4.8 and 7.2 depending on its conservation
•Viscosity meter to determine the thickness of a product.
•Q-sun Xenon Testing Chamber for the Xenon tests. To look at the stability of the color in a product.
When a product fails a test, they analyze what the problem is. When they find this problem, the recipe will be adjusted. When a product is approved, it may be produced.
