Learning Russian.

Dear EP members,
Have you ever studied Russian, and if so, in what ways has learning Russian benefited you? What are some of the challenges and unique perspectives you have encountered?

Also, if you happen to have an answer for this but in a different language, I would love to hear that as well.
Si, Sto cercando di studiare I'italiano ma la grammatical e' difficile.

"yes I am trying to study Italian but the grammar is difficult."

Also my memory is not great. The vocabulary is not really a problem though.

@Cutiepi23 I get told Spanish and Italian are like 70% the same, but sometimes seeing Italian, I get it, sometimes not. The whole o->i; a->e, the definite articles, the falsos amigos/cognates - es muy complicado a veces.
Si Spanish is not so difficult grammatically. Even the Italians don't speak perfect Italian and of course there's the different dialects also.

The verbs essere and avere I am trying to memorize to be and to have and how to change the endings of the words accordingly.... mamma mia lol

I remember the swear words as they don't change lol!!

I am going to start learning Russian at school next month. I have some Russian ancestry through my father and my sister is studying French and Russian at university. I'm sharing a room at school with a native Russian speaker to help my conversation 🙂

I know the Russian alveolar trill (rolled 'r') is different from, say the Spanish rolled 'r'. This I've been told by my Armenian friend who learned Russian as a child.

Being a member of VK I really need to learn Russian. I've just been to lazy to start.
