How do people learn to be good citizens?

Do you think it would help if mindfulness, meditation, philosophy, ethics, life skills - were taught in schools?

From their parents hopefully, from society, from the Bible ("Do unto others as you want them to do to you" Luke 6:31) , and hopefully from a trained conscious of what is right and wrong.
