How do people learn to be good citizens?

Do you think it would help if mindfulness, meditation, philosophy, ethics, life skills - were taught in schools?

It's all about morals

Hi AnukBinary
so where do people learn morals? My suspicion is from each other which is why younger people are often fair minded and democratic.
Best wishes
:)

@sogdianrock morals aren't taught through society or educational programs anymore. Infact they are the exact opposite. Its usually a parents job to teach their children the fundamental base of morals in a sense.

hi AnukBinary
Are parents qualified to teach morals? Is society itself a moral environment? In the absence of widespread shared morality is it not everyone for themselves in a dog eat dog world? My suspicion is young people make their own morality and do a good job by and large.
Best wishes

@sogdianrock I can only speak from personal experiences. I learned most of my morals from my parents. And if it had been left up to the education programs I would not be who I am today.

I am sure family and parents is where much socialisation is done.

@sogdianrock That all said. What you suggested in your question is the very things I was taught growing up. Things that were not available in school. And from a none bias point of view.
