I loved this post and story. I listen to her every word as I washed dishes and did chores in the kitchen.

My father as a German Immigrant to the US in 1957 came over as a leather worker and shoe cobbler. I still have his 1898 leather Singer sowing machine from his leather shop.

@HumanEarth Actually for me it would be like saying $10,000 and me thinking shit three to four year to get there myself. Huge money back then and I was so pleased to hear from her husband through her kids and her own extra work how they raised the $100 needed.
