OMG Can We Act Like Adults?

[media=https://youtu.be/kvNAid29vv8?feature=shared]

So today .. rather than stand and wait the turn to ask his questions in an appropriate manner, CA senator Alex Padilla barged into a Christie Noem press conference and beligerently approached the stage, yelling over Noem. Security responded to redirect him and he continued to try and get around them to approach the stage again. Security continued restraining him and eventually removed Padilla from the room.

Very poorly handled on Padilla's part to act this way knowing security is assigned to protect Noem. Perhaps intentional on his part to provoke the incident knowing this ? Security was as polite as possible given his resistance, but did rather forcibly remove him and cuff him in the hallway.

Not handled very well by any involved, including Padilla.

“Can we act like adults?”

A flat no. Our co-presidents are having a bad messy breakup. Citizens are being deported Willy-nilly. SOLDIERS are taking over L.A. The president is threatening a state governor. Same president hesitates on questions about whether he will uphold the Constitution.

The previous president pardoned his son. The current president pardoned violent aggressors from January 6th.

We have no good adult role models.
@Mamapolo2016 There are no co-presidents. There are not citizens being deported willy nilly. Soldiers were sent to keep these riots from being like the BLM ones allowed to go on over weeks.

This is exactly the kind of careless exaggeration I'm asking about re being adults.
@BrandNewMan And your response is why I say we have no good adult models.

Precisely how much factual evidence do you need? Are things better - at all - from before this presidency?

When a child is caught with chocolate cake on his face standing beside a destroyed cake, we believe he is guilty of cake mauling. (We hope it made him happy.)

Yet we refuse to believe a deeply flawed adult is doing anything bad or destructive or illegal.
@Mamapolo2016 I have no illusions Trump has no flaws. News flash .. so did Biden. So did Obama, and every President in our history, through and including Washington.

What is illegal that Trump did or is doing in this situation? There is a court hearing late today on the Natl Guard and Marine callouts. Therefore NOTHING is confirmed outside allowances in the law on those actions at this time. What are the other illegal acts? Where is your support for the claim? Quit talking in vague generalities. Put in front of me with legal backing and I'll accept it. You just saying it is not proof of anything. Your quaint cake icing rationale doesn't hold any relevance in court, even when you really dont like someone.

What has this got to do with Trump? He wasn't present. This senator was out of line approaching this in this manner and taking several seconds into struggling to identify himself. He continued to struggle against and resist Secret Service agents legitimately expected attempts to prevent him approaching the stage. He's no rookie senator, he knows security protocols and that Secret Service cant stand idle while he acts out this way. Secret Service was doing their job .. maybe a bit too assertively, but it IS their job.

@BrandNewMan and the court said what?
@samueltyler2

Appeals court temporaroly overuled the lower court .. so the deployment remains in effect.

Expect this goes higher before final decision .. possibly all the way to the supreme court.

@BrandNewMan and the court will delay, that is the new standard according to TACO Don. It has been his most effective tool.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@BrandNewMan did you watch the video? What did you see? I saw him far away from her highness saying i am senator and i have a question, then being aggressively pushed out, through another room and into the hall, told to get on the ground and when he kneeled was pushed face down and forcefully handcuffed by some wearing bullet proof vests and done without. One had a marking saying FBI the others no uniforms, but sidearms very visible.
@samueltyler2 No more so than Executive branch politics driving activist judge decisions in the Judicial branch.

Not really how its supposed to work on either part.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@BrandNewMan i have no idea what you just said.
@samueltyler2 No surprise there. 🙄

Im talking about all the leftist activist judges makin "Nationwide declarations" that were not done that way before. Its only been all over the news the last 5 months.

Many judges are letting too much politics into their legal decisions. They are supposed to be limited to interpreting the law .. not bending it it fit the political agenda they want to see win out. It is blurring the line between Executive and Judicial branches of government and weakening our Check & Balances system.

@samueltyler2 Exactly. The politics of the Executive branch are far too often being considered and influencing the decisions made in the Judicial branch. Activist judges are open to such twisting of the Judicial branch responsibilities.

The Judicial branch is getting outside its intended scope. They should NOT be taking on responsibilites of congress, making regional court level decisions effective nationwide, allowing political goals to alter interpretation of the law, etc.

What are you not understanding about this?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@BrandNewMan so what would you prefer in the current situation?
@samueltyler2 That judges stick to factual interpretation of the law and the intended scope of their decisions.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@BrandNewMan why do you allude to them not doing so? What facts are being ignored?
