It hurts to think that we were some of the most popular people in school

And because of various things, me and my girlf are now really unpopular. We were just friends back then and hung out all the time and we used to rule!
Now people treat us like total losers and often we have to socialise with people we wouldn’t have been seen dead with back then. It actually hurts.

Sorry man, but one of the realities of growing up is recognizing when it's time to grow up.
Sounds like your friends from back in the day have matured and moved on, and it sounds like you and your girl are stuck.
The high school days are gone and it's just time to grow up. No more house parties, no more sleep overs and no more Kegers.
