I Am Annoyed

I hate when people irl give me (unsolicited) advice and I already know the stuff. My common-sense is in-tact, peeps, so I already know what you're telling me... I literally knew it years ago, still do.

It just irks me. I know, they don't know me nor are they aware I already know stuff. But still... You should refrain from giving unsolicited advice to anyone because perhaps that person is already knowledgeable on the subject and you're only wasting time and oxygen. 😕

(I know people may say this is hypocritical since I'm giving unsolicited advice at the last, but still....)

nothing you hear is by accident. perhaps it’s a reminder. and it can be hard to hear from another. you know what you know, and at the end of the day, everything is just a confirmation to our knowledge.

@soulrespite Yeah, that's true... But it's irksome when they talk like you're a newbie lol
it can be. i agree. but in the moment, there is no point in telling them you already know, perhaps even more than they do. so you just have to listen and that’s what is hard. @JupiterDreams

Redundancy is almost always better than the opposite. 🤔

@SW-User Yeah, that's also true haha

I often give unsolicited advice to people...I'm 300 years old now so I can do that...I always preface the advice with " Are you aware...?" or something like that so insecure people won't react the way you do. It's silly to get mad about and insulted by someone trying to help you because...as you say...they do NOT know what you know or don't know. This is entirely your issue. Sometimes people really just want to help you. Try seeing that part

You should also give them advice for something to return the favor 😄

Yeah, that's frustrating. If it's a one-off happening then I'm fine with just saying yes and thank you and letting it fly. It's probably well-meant anyway. Still, it often feels as if some people are incapable of understanding that common sense is... well... common sense, or that they don't think one is capable of knowing things that one clearly knows.

That said, not gonna say I've never been guilty of doing it myself.
JupiterDreams · 31-35
@PirateMonkeyCabinet Yeah haha. I've probably done it before too
