I Know Haters Gonna Hate

“I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with PAIN.”

James Baldwin

I come to realize letting go of my pain ,was finally admitting its over .
My ex has moved on ,she don't care how long I carry the torch
She keeps saying she wants to come see me ,do all the emotional stuff in private so that my kids don't start blocking her from showing up at family functions ruining them for me .
She still wants to be around my family because she loves them
They are my family
I am not hating ,I forgave her its done
But to be friends again ,there are some things that need to be said and I am not doing it in front of 45 -50 family members ,
But I did have to face ,holding on to the pain was in some demented /obsessed way ,still holding on to her
I finally let it go
But I don't pick scabs off of freshly healed wounds either

Hate is always irrelevant.

Cause it's not about that. It's about deprivation.

TY for understanding.

Or that it's the one thing saving them from irrelevance , like Trump's racist base.

James Baldwin was an interesting writer and an original thinker. A true American treasure.

This is a good quote. People usually are not at peace with themselves when hating others.

Makes sense, definitely.
